Barrels from the Swiss - "Vitol" won on NIS’ tender for procurement of 1m ton of oil

Swiss company “Vitol” will deliver 1m tons of oil to Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) in the period April-December 2009 – NIS announced yesterday (March 30, 2009).

In addition to “Vitol”, there were another 5 bidders on the tender: Russian "Gazpromneft" (the majority owner of NIS), Turkish "Petrako", Cypriot "Moil coal Trading" (which used to sell oil to NIS), Swiss "Gunvor" and "Glencore".

- NIS carried out the tender procedure according to the new system, which significantly expanded the circle of possible suppliers and, in the end, we managed to extend the repayment deadline from 30 to 60 days – said Kiril Kravčenko, the Director General of NIS.
