Law on Restitution in second half of year 2009

- Government of Serbia will propose the Draft Law on Restitution for adoption in the second half of year 2009 - Diana Dragutinović, the Minister of Finance of Serbia, announced today (March 30, 2009).

- The Ministry of Finance is preparing the new version of the Draft Law on Restitution, but I can not promise that it will be submitted to the Parliament before the third quarter of this year - Dragutinović said to the press on the occasion of the protest that will be organized tomorrow in Belgrade by the Network for Restitution.

She pointed out that the new version of the Draft Law on Restitution would be different from the one that the Government of Serbia had adopted in May 2007.

- New solutions for restitution of the nationalized property to former owners and their heirs will be more fair than the ones suggested earlier – said Dragutinović, but she did not reveal any details.
