"Metro Cash and Carry" registered 221m EUR worth of incomes

Company "Metro Cash & Carry" in Serbia has announced today (March 25, 2009) that it registered 221m EUR worth of incomes in 2008, which is about 18% more than in 2007.

According to the announcement, that company has, so far, opened five distributive centers in Serbia, two of which in Belgrade and one in Novi Sad, Kragujevac and Niš, which employ total of 1,258 workers.

People from "Metro Cash & Carry" say that the number of its distributive centers grew by 40 in 2008, to total of 655 wholesale centers. Nine new centers were opened only in Russia.

According to the announcement, that company plans to open its first distributive centers in Egypt and Kazakhstan in 2009.

It is also added in the announcement that "Metro Cash & Carry" group increased its global sales by 4.6% in 2008, to 33.1 billion EUR.

"Metro Cash & Carry" is the most popular international and best-selling brand of "Metro Group", which registered turnover worth 68 billion EUR in 2008.
