Carpet studded with 2m pearls

The Pearl Carpet of Baroda, now the world's most expensive, is believed to have been created in India more than 100 years ago as a gift to the tomb in the holy city of Medina, Saudi Arabia.

The maharajah died before the donation was made and the carpet, studded with an estimated two million natural seed pearls known as basra, harvested from the waters of the Gulf, remained in his family.
