First SOS store opened in Serbia – prices up to 50% lower that usual

Trade company "Jabuka" has opened “SOS market” today (March 25, 2009) in Belgrade. This store is the first of the kind in Serbia, it is intended for socially endangered citizens, and the prices of products in it are 40 to 50% lower than usual.

The store, which is situated in the city suburbs, 532 Kralja Aleksandra Boulevard, was opened by Slobodan Milosavljević, the Minister of Trade and Services.

During the first three days, shopping in “SOS market” will be enabled to all citizens. After that, the door of “SOS market” will be open only for the citizens with the cards that will be issued to those with minimum wage or pension lower than 20,000 RSD, the unemployed, displaced persons from Kosovo, as well as to those who receive minimum amount of social aid.

According to the estimates of the representatives of "Jabuka", the first citizens appeared in front of the store at about 5 AM this morning, while about 200 people waited for the store to be opened at 10.30 AM.
