This year's challenge Anything but a Car (Samo ne autom) 2018 will be held for the fourth time as part of the European Mobility Week, and the event will take three work days for the first time. Over 25 companies and 400 participants have applied so far, the Embassy of Denmark in Serbia announced.
The challenge is organized for the fourth time by Bajsologija and Ulica za bicikliste, with the support of its partners, the Heinrich Boell Foundation and the UNDP, and its sponsor, Apatinska Pivara, aiming to promote the use of alternative means of transport in everyday commute.
– The idea is to promote sustainable mobility and turn people's attention to the increasingly large traffic jams, pollution, global warming and health issues that accompany the transport by motor vehicles – stated Vladimir Curcic of Bajsologija.
Companies may apply teams of at least three members, and participation is free. Contestants gather points through a free app by cycling or walking to and from work, and companies and individuals with the biggest mileage, as well as the companies with the biggest number of applicants stand to receive awards.
On Friday, September 21, 2018, the participants may attend the Cyclists' Breakfast at the turning from Branko's Bridge, from 7 till 10 am. The breakfast is organized with the support of the Embassy of Denmark in Serbia.
