The Ministry of Tourism told our portal that the value of the project was RSD 1.8 billion, of which the Republic of Serbia provides two thirds of the investment, whereas the City of Belgrade provides the remaining third.
– The main goal of the construction of the gondola is to establish an attractive transport system which has the function of providing a panoramic view of the city, in addition to performing the transporting function – the competent ministry told eKapija.
They have recently published a prior information notice for the contractor, where they stated that the tendering would start by the end of September.
The Ministry of Tourism emphasizes that the Republic of Serbia and the City of Belgrade would build the Usce-Kalemegdan cable car/gondola in line with the highest standards. The length of the route should be around 1 km, and the speed will be around 5-6 m/s. The planned capacity is around 3,000 passengers an hour, and the cabins will be able to accommodate up to 10 people and be adapted for cyclists and disabled persons.
eKapija has already written about the details of the construction of the gondola in Belgrade.
