"Bambi-Banat" opened chocolate factory in Vršac - 3.8m EUR worth of investment

Confectionery company "Bambi-Banat" opened the new unit for production of chocolate in Vršac on March 19, 2009, in which 3.8m EUR was invested.
The President of the Administrative Board of "Bambi-Banat", Rade Pribićević, said at the opening that daily production in the new factory would amount to 12 tons of chocolate, while the projected annual production amounted to 1,500 tons.
The chocolate factory will have 30 employees, the product portfolio will be expanded, while the new chocolates will be exported to the neighboring countries.
According to the announcement, unit "Banat II" at 1,600 square meters will be producing six kinds of "bambi" black chocolate and five kinds of milk chocolate, as well as other confectioneries of that company.
- "Bambi-Banat" concern invested about 40% of 10m EUR worth of investments in 2008 in the adaptation of the existing building in new chocolate production unit in Vršac and the procurement of equipment - Pribićević pointed out.
"Bambi-Banat" concern was created at the beginning of year 2007 as the result of the merger of "Bambi" from Požarevac and "Banat" from Vršac. The headquarters of the concern, a member of "Danube foods", is in Belgrade, and the company has 1,200 employees.
