- French investment banks “BNP Paribas” and “Rothschild” are
competing for the position of adviser in the privatization of Belgrade-based pharmaceutical
company "Galenika" – the Privatization Agency announced.
French bank Societe Generale has also submitted a technically regular bid, but
it has been refused because its financial segment does not meet the minimum
tender terms.
"BNP Paribas" has asked the fixed price of 175,000 EUR for consulting
services in the privatization of "Galenika", as well as a bonus for
successfully done job in amount of 1.5% of the value of transaction.
"Rothschild" has suggested the fixed price of 25,000 EUR and a bonus for successfully done job in amount of 0.74% of the value of transaction.
The Tender Commission will evaluate and rank these two bids and invite the selected bidder to the talks preceding the signing of the contract.
All consulting companies and investment banks that have successfully carried out, at least, two privatizations in pharmaceutical industry in Europe, worth minimum 400m EUR, or two tender privatizations in Serbia over the last seven years, were able to participate in the tender for selection of the adviser in privatization of "Galenika", which was announced in November 2008.
In 2007 "Galenika" registered 6.68 billion RSD worth of incomes and the profit of 1.25 billion RSD, and it employs about 2,700 workers.
