Demining of Sjenica Airport to continue in 2019

Expert team of Serbian Armed Forces has organized work on technical reconnaissance, detecting and destroying the unexploded ordnance from the surface of Dubinje airport near Sjenica contaminated during the NATO aggression from May to September of the current year. The continuation of demining was announced for 2019.

During the said period, 26 BLU 97 combined effects bombs, which are extremely hazardous if handled by unqualified persons, were detected and removed

The areas contaminated with unexploded ordnance on the Dubinje airport are clearly marked and all roads leading into the area of the airport have been closed off with physical barriers.
