German company Auto-Kabel decided to invest in Serbia and it will finance its manufacturing plant with around EUR 1 million, eKapija portal learned.

– We are still picking out the location, and we are focused on municipalities in Western Serbia. Depending on the location, it could be a greenfield or brownfield investment or whether we would lease a production facility. We will come to a decision on the new location no later than November this year, the company told our portal.

They pointed out that choosing a location would not depend on state and local government subsidies but on other criteria.

They explained their decision to do business in Serbia with quality work force. The company added that the business in Serbia would be registered within a month and that they have given up on opening a facility in Kosjeric, which we wrote about before.

Auto-Kabel is a private family-run business founded back in 1939. and today employs around 4,000 workers. They have factories across Germany and facilities in Mexico , China, Czech Republic, Switzerland and France. The company manufactures aluminum and copper cables for energy transfer and they cooperate with the biggest car manufacturers in automotive industry such as BMW, Ford, Toyota, Volkswagen, Jaguar, Renault and Peugeot.
