Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has proposed forming a joint enterprise between Bulgaria and Montenegro that will export electricity to Italy.

During the press conference with Montenegrin Prime Minister, Dusko Markovic , Borissov said he was interested in electricity transfer between Montenegro and Italy because Bulgaria had two nuclear reactors and construction land for a nuclear power plant ready.

I proposed we make a joint enterprise, with , perhaps, nominal participation in the construction of our power plant . Maybe we could include our colleague from Serbia so that we could transfer the power to Italy on the basis of your projects with Italy. I think it would be a really good, profitable project, Borissov said.

According to Borissov, business and economic competence should be several times bigger, he added that Europe and Asia can make connections through the Balkan region.

– It's up to us. If we consistently insist on the project, it won't end up at the bottom of the drawer of European bureaucracy, Borissov said.

He thinks that the development of regional infrastructure is of great importance for both countries.
