Sremska Mitrovica plans construction of another industrial zone

The transfer of rights on use of state-owned land from former user House of Correction in Sremska Mitrovica to the City of Sremska Mitrovica created conditions for organization of another industrial zone in the largest city in Srem.

This conclusion was adopted at the last meeting of the city parliament, and it concerns additional 15 ha of land in the vicinity of highway where industrial zone Sever 2 will be organized. This would be the third industrial zone intended for potential investors and, according to the words of Mayor Branislav Nedimović, the process that was started few years ago, related to forming of industrial zones and promotion of city potentials, would be resumed in that way.

- Although we live at the time of economic crisis, we work hard to create enough space for the arrival of potential investors once the crisis is over. This decision is one of the tasks that must be fulfilled to make that happen – said Nedimović and added that it was expected that the contract with the Directorate for Property of Republic of Serbia would be signed in two or three months, which should be followed by the public utility equipping of the zone.
