"Intel" plans to donate software to Serbia for use of computers in education

- American manufacturer of computer chips "Intel" plans to donate 12m EUR worth of software to Serbia for use of computers in education - Veselin Jevrosimović, the President of "Comtrade" group, announced.

Jevrosimović told Beta agency that that program would enable communication between professors and students, that is, it would make it possible for the professors to give assignments to the students and supervise their work by means of the central computer.

As Jevrosimović explained, the program will be translated into Serbian language in Cyrillic and Latin version.

Jevrosimović and Craig Barrett, the President of the Administrative Board of "Intel", have visited Belgrade-based school "Jovan Miodragović", which obtained 30 portable computers from "Comtrade" for use in education in primary schools.

- “Comtrade” has made an experimental classroom in school "Jovan Miodragović" in association with “Intel”, and it should be a model for introduction of computers in primary schools in Serbia – said Jevrosimović.

Computers for primary school pupils are intended exclusively for schools, and their price is about 250 EUR.

Jevrosimović added that the price was low because the programs were donated by European Union and "Intel".

These portable computers have Internet cameras and they are resistant to blows.
