Flight Control Agency to procure air traffic management system

The Flight Control Agency of Serbia and Montenegro has announced that it will sign the contract on procurement of the air traffic management system from “Thales” group on Monday (March 9th, 2009).

The contract on procurement of the system for air traffic safety improvement will be signed by the President of the Administrative Board of that institution, Nikola Stankov, and the CEO of company "Thales Air Systems", Fransin Lagass.


The contract anticipates procurement of the data processing system ,radio-navigation instruments, telecommunication equipment and radars, and this procurement will make it possible for the Agency to finish the modernization process, of which completion is expected in 2011, and to meet the air traffic safety standards stipulated by the Open Sky Agreement.

According to the announcement, the procurement has been arranged in an open international procedure of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

It has been announced that the contract will be signed in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, Božidar Đelić, Serbian Minister of Infrastructure, Milutin Mrkonjić, the Minister of Transportation of Montenegro, Andrija Lompar, and the representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Civil Aviation Directorate.
