"A-tec" interested in Cable Industry in Jagodina

Austrian company "A-tec", of which majority owner is Mirko Kovač, is interested in becoming a strategic partner of "Cable Industry" in Jagodina.

The tender for sale of 99.35% of public capital in "Cable Industry" at the price of 56,600,000 EUR was announced at the end of December 2008, and the deadline for submission of bids is March 20th. The deadline for procurement of tender dossier expired on February 27, and no company bought it.

- The chiefs of the Privatization Agency and the trade union of “Cable Industry” will talk about privatization on Friday, March 6th – said Dragan Rajić, the President of the Independent trade union of "Cable Industry" and a member of the tender commission of the Privatization Agency.

The CEO of Viennese company “Porr”, Walter Weber, confirmed in Vienna on November 26th, 2008, in the conversation with the delegation of Jagodina, led by Mayor and national representative Dragan Marković – Palma, that "A-tec" was interested in Jagodina-based “Cable Industry”.

- As the general and authorized agent of company "A-tec" and Mr. Kovač, I have absolute authority for all types of negotiations concerning "Cable Industry" in Jagodina and Mining-Smelter Basin (RTB) "Bor". "A-tec" wants to complete the circle of production of copper and power-telecommunication cables in Serbia – said Weber on that occasion, and estimated that that would be "a very good Austrian-Serbian solution".
