University of Novi Sad on Shanghai list for the first time – Best ranking in food technologies

The University of Novi Sad has placed on the ShanghaiRanking/Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) list, between the 901st and the 1000th place, the University announced.

The categories from the 501st to the 1000th place feature universities candidates for the top 500 list (ARWU World Top 500 Candidates 2018), and the University of Novi Sad is on the list of the first 500 candidates. It is the only university from Serbia to be featured, in addition to the University of Belgrade.

This year, the Novi Sad University is ranked in sectors, in a total three fields. In the field of food technologies, it is positioned between the 101st and the 150th place, in the field of veterinary sciences – between the 201st and the 300th one and in the field of chemical engineering – between the 401st and the 500th place.

The criteria considered include the number of papers published, the number of quotations, the number of works published in magazines with a high impact factor, as well as the number of Nobel laureates and Fields Medalists.
