Tenants taking up space in the new Electric Works block in Sheffield are offering their staff a quirky shortcut from the top of the four-storey building to the ground floor.
The see-through helter-skelter, 26 meters long, is made of steel and plastic, and it can take staff from the third to the ground floor reception area in an exhilarating seven seconds. It
will inevitably give the health and safety police palpitations, but
that's all for the better according to designer Toby Hyam, who says it
is intended as a 'statement about risk-taking'.
For the less adventurous, the options of using the stairs or a lift remain.
