New Oscars category to be introduced – Telecast to be cut to three hours max

The organizers of the Oscars awards have announced that they will introduce a new award category and that the 2019 telecast will be limited to three hours.

It is not yet known what the new category is.

The Board of the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences also announced that some awards would be presented during commercial breaks.

The changes are to be implemented beginning with the next ceremony, scheduled for February 2019.
