Novi Sad to get athletics stadium and indoor court in Jugovicevo

Novi Sad will get an athletics complex in Jugovicevo. The City Administration for Construction Land and Investments of Novi Sad has opened the public invitation for the preparation of the technical documentation for the construction of an athletics indoor court and an athletics stadium.

– The preparation of the technical documentation will be financed from the city budget – the city administration told our portal.

They say that they can`t specify at the moment when the invitation for the contractor will be placed, but that it surely won`t happen this year.

The complex should take up 12,000 m2 and feature an elevated ground floor and an additional two floors. It will feature an athletics court, an athletics stadium, a side stadium, warm-up tracks, room for children`s athletics, a playground, a parking lot...

The deadline for the submission of bids for the preparation of the technical documentation is September 3, 2018.

The indoor court should feature a fixed 200-m, six-lane oval running track on a concrete bed, with two directions and two bends, a sprint track, a pole vault section, a high jump section, two long jump/triple jump sections, as well as a shot put section. The court would have 1,500 to 2,500 seats and the exact capacity will be defined by the technical documentation.

The stadium should contain the usual track and field features. The plan is for it to have up to 5,000 seats on around 2,500 m2. It will feature an oval running track of 400 m, with at least eight lanes, a steeplechase track, a long jump/triple jump section, a shot put section and discus, hammer and javelin throw sections.

Both the stadium and the indoor court should feature LED lighting.
