YouTube to start developing original Spanish-language titles

YouTube will soon start developing its first slate of Spanish-language titles, one of which will be starring Mexican actor Gael Garcia Bernal. The ambition of the Google-owned company is to present its own content.
Colombian singer Maluma and Mexican comedian Sofia Niño de Rivera will also star in series.
YouTube, which has so far primarily relied on user-uploaded content, has now adopted a new strategy of producing its own programs.
The video platform announced in early May that it had started showing its series Cobra Kai, inspired by the Karate Kid saga.
The first, free, episode has been viewed by 40 million users.
