Law on Lobbying to arrive in October?

Serbian Minister of Justice Nela Kuburovic hopes that the draft law on lobbying and the draft law on prevention of corruption will be adopted this autumn – in October.

She emphasized that the adoption of the law on lobbying was one of the anti-corruption measures, but also Serbia’s obligation under the action plan for Chapter 23.

– The important thing is that there will be a register of lobbyists run by the Anti-Corruption Agency. Lobbyists’ activities should be public and transparent. It needs to be known what they are lobbying for with which functionary – the minister clarified.

She added that lobbying was not against the law and that many countries already had such a law, with the USA being the most prominent example.
