What makes these two franchise concepts, which originate in Latvia, so attractive is a good combination of innovation and profitability. For guests, this is reflected in the manner of ordering, payment and a wide range of options, and for business owners, this means that they are able to follow the supplies and the collection of revenues with precision.
Thanks to an attractive concept and a great interest in the franchise, Juris Roganovs, the Director of Franchising at the company, expects Easy Wine or Easy Beer to open in Prague, Warsaw, Budapest, Rotterdam, Oslo, Moscow, Dubai, but also in Belgrade, in the near future.
When a guest enters an Easy restaurant, they get a magnetic card with virtual money that they can use to pour drinks themselves from a specially designed wall. This means that they don’t have to wait to be served by waiters, and the automated dosage system measures the amount of the drink poured with precision. The guest is thereby able to pour as much as they want, even if it’s a minimal amount, just enough to get a taste.
– The amount poured defines the price, and the guest pays at the end of the evening – says the group’s manager, Peteris Ozols, emphasizing that the drinks wall is one of Easy restaurants’ attractions.
Easy Wine provides a choice of 60 different wines, whereas around 200 types of beer can be tasted at Easy Beer.
– This is a great opportunity for guests who, say, want to taste a glass of a good, expensive wine they otherwise wouldn’t buy, as a bottle can cost up to EUR 30 in stores. On the other hand, from the business angle, it’s hard to be successful if you sell only exclusive wines, as most people want to drink mid-priced wines. We have created an optimal offer – Ozols says.
The process of automatization does not just benefit the consumers, but business owners as well, in this case, future franchisees. In addition to being much quicker, the self-service also reduces the need for additional staff, and it’s just as important that even the smallest amount of drink poured is accounted for. This way, as already said, both the amounts of supplies and the collection of revenues are followed closely.
Enterprises that decide to buy the franchise benefit from the fact that all business processes of running the restaurant are described in detail in an operating handbook, and various support tools and training programs have been developed as well.
Around EUR 150,000 is needed to launch an Easy Wine or an Easy Beer restaurant. A half of this amount is put into business software and the kitchen and bar equipment, and the franchiser says that they also offer a more favorable option to their partners – equipment leasing.
– On average, our restaurants start making profit after two months. One advantage is that franchisees are freed from the obligation to pay the franchise fee in the first three months, so that is usually the period in which they achieve the targeted profit – Roganovs reminds.
