The construction of the modern cargo center at the Banjaluka Airport continued on Monday, July 23. The new cargo center, featuring modern equipment, will increase the airport's capacities and consequently its income as well, the director of the PE Airports of Republika Srpska, Dusko Kovacevic, told RTRS.

As the contractor, Delta MD, said earlier, the construction, which never properly got off the ground, was halted by the inspection due to discrepancies in the dimensions of structural elements.

Talking about passenger traffic, Kovacevic said that the number of passengers grew each year.

Projections for the next year show that over 100,000 passengers might pass through the Banjaluka Airport, and the increase in the number of passengers is also down to the agreement with Ryanair, which will launch services to three European destinations this October.
