Tourism Fair at Belgrade Trade Fair between February 26 and March 1 – 850 exhibitors

International Tourism Fair, one of the 5 largest manifestations at the Belgrade Trade Fair, will be organized between February 26 and March 1, 2009. This event will gather 850 exhibitors from all over the world. Among 38 countries that will present their tourist offers, Libya and Syria will have their premieres this year.

According to Anđelko Trpković, the CEO of the Belgrade Trade Fair, this year’s Tourism Fair will take place in halls 1,2,3,4, at total of 15,000 square meters of exhibition space.

As he explained, hall 4 (former hall 14) is reserved for presentation of local tourist offer. That is where the booths of tourist organizations, ministries, associations, regional tourist organizations, cities and municipalities will be settled, as well as the booths of the most attractive local tourist destinations.

Hall 1 is reserved for foreign countries and tour-operators, while hall 2 – level A will host the booths of educational institutions, schools and universities. Tourist agencies and specialized media will be at level C. This year, hall 3 will be reserved for the booths with catering and hotel equipment.

The country-partner of this year’s Tourism Fair is Tunis, while the region-partner is Istra, of which representatives told Serbian tourists at today’s (February 18, 2009) press conference that they were always welcome in Tunis and Istra.

- Last year, Istra was visited by over 17,000 tourists from Serbia who had 100,000 overnight stays, which is 38% more than one year before – said the CEO of the Tourist Community of Istra Canton, Tomislav Popović, and added that he expected that the growth of 30% would be repeated in 2009.

By the way, the visitors of this manifestation will be able to see and hear over 250 promotions, presentations, lectures and other accompanying events. Special accent will be placed on "Universiade", as well as on other manifestations that will be organized in Serbia in 2009.

The largest tourist agencies will be approving special discount of 5 to 10% on every procured arrangement.

By the way, the Tourism Fair will be opened between 10 AM and 6 PM (10AM-5PM on the closing day). The price of the ticket is 300 RSD.
