Serbian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Branislav Nedimovic met yesterday with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Suriname, Yldiz Deborah Pollack-Beighle, to discuss the possibilities of cooperation between the two states in the fields of agriculture and food industry.

As said in a press release by the Ministry of Agriculture, the delegation of Suriname emphasized their great interest in Serbian investments in the processing industry, including the processing of fish and the construction of storage capacities, and the intensification of the cooperation of the two countries was therefore agreed to the end of finding interested investors.

Cooperation regarding the assistance in establishing a food safety system in Suriname, as well as the transfer of knowledge and experience Serbia has in agriculture, was also agreed at the meeting.
