All at one place – Military Medical Academy (VMA) to form Center for diagnostics and treatment of calculosis

The Military Medical Academy has started forming the Center for diagnostics and treatment of calculosis, which will enable complete diagnostics, treatment and further monitoring of patients with kidney or urinary stones, all at one place.

The ward that deals with complete diagnostics, metabolic testing of calculosis and extracorporal lithotripsy is equipped with the up-to-date apparatus for extracorporal lithotripsy.

People in VMA say that no other medical institution in this region has such apparatus. It can be applied to extremely obese patients, it is equipped with ultrasound and X-ray control, double focus – one for kidney stones and the other for urinary stones, and it has series of advantages that makes treatment of calculosis easier, increases efficiency of the method and significantly reduces complications.
