As the Provincial Government says, the Agriculture Innovation Towards Growth and Employment in Cross-Border Region (AGRINNO) program is financed within the IPA Hungary-Serbia cross-border program. The project is meant to educate agriculturists to use arable land.
The Provincial Secretary for Agriculture, Vuk Radojevic said at the conference held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, which marked the beginning of the project, that the aim was to implement innovative models in agricultural production in order to enable young and unemployed people in village areas to improve their production and their production capacities in farming.
He reminded that the project, with the Provincial Secretariat for Agriculture as the leading partner, was being realized thanks to the mutual recognition of the importance of the implementation of innovative approaches in agriculture – with partners from the Csongrad County, the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad, as well as the European Affairs Fund in Novi Sad.
– What makes the project especially valuable are demo plastic greenhouses with modern measuring instruments. They will be located at the Institute, but also in another three locations in Vojvodina – in the secondary agricultural schools in Futog, Ruma and Vrsac. Our intention is to thereby motivate and educate young agricultural producers to use the latest equipment and technology – Radojevic pointed out and added that this project reflected the Secretariat's strategic orientation and the goal towards attracting EU funds in order to help the young stay in village areas, start families and be active in agriculture.
The AGRINNO project, which the European Union is co-funding with 85% and the participants in the project with 15%, is planned to be realized by November 30, 2019.
