The Ministry of Environment Protection is going to invest 1.1m EUR in procurement of air filters and refurbishment of existing gas pipeline.

The State Secretary of that Ministry, Aleksandar Vesić, confirmed that the money would be invested in environmental projects regardless of the fact that modern copper smelter would be built in Bor.

- Our Ministry can not wait for five years for the new smelter to be built, and we will not allow negative influence on health in that period. If the smelter was built in three years, like Minister Dinkić announced, that would be an exceptional success - said Vesić.

According to his words, the Ministry of Environment Protection will do its best to accelerate issuing of building permits for construction of new smelter.

- In order for some company to obtain building permit, it needs to submit voluminous technical documentation that includes the estimate of the influence on environment, protection measures, as well as an integrated license that will provide preconditions and conditions for prevention of pollution - said Vesić.

According to his words, the main gas pipeline between the Smelter and the Factory of sulfur acid, as well as wet filters, will be used in the new smelter.
