French Credit Agricole group has increased the capital of Meridian bank from Novi Sad by 16m EUR in order to support strong growth of that bank in 2009.

It is specified in the announcement that the capital was increased at the beginning of the year by 17.9% of stock capital of Meridian bank, and that the additional capitalization was carried out through Credit Agricole's direct investment in stocks.

Meridian bank plans to grow by 30 to 50% this year.
