Hyundai Group is interested in taking over Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, India's NDTV reported on Sunday, July 1, 2018, saying that the merger between the two companies would make Hyundai the biggest car manufacturer in the world, Tanjug reports.

Hyundai Group currently consists of Hyundai, Kia and Mobis, whereas Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) features Fiat, Chrysler, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Iveco, Maserati and its most profitable car company – Jeep.

According to AsiaTimes, the South Korean car manufacturer is waiting for an expected decline in Fiat Chrysler Automobiles shares before launching a takeover bid for the Italo-American automotive group.

NDTV reminds that this is not the first time that rumors about FCA being sold or merged appear.

As said, FCA Group has been looking for a company to integrate with for a number of years now.
