"Delta" submitted bid for "Mercator" – 10 to 15 potential buyers interested in 48% of stocks of Slovenian company

Deadline for submission of non-obligatory bids for purchase of 48% of stocks of "Mercator" expired at midnight, and one of the bids has been submitted by Serbian company "Delta Holding".
According to Slovenian media, 10 to 15 buyers are interested in takeover of
"Mercator", and they have submitted the bids. Slovenian portal 24ur.com
announced that Serbian "Delta Holding" had already confirmed that he
had submitted the bid for takeover. This portal also announced that,
unofficially, Croatian “Agrokor” was one of the bidders.
The second phase of sale of "Mercator" will be open only for those
bidders who are estimated as good and invited to cooperation in further
procedures. On that occasion, they will be enabled insight into business operations
of "Mercator", based on which they will be able to submit the
obligatory bids.
Deadline for submission of obligatory bids will be known at the beginning of the next phase of sale, while the third phase will start with the opening of obligatory bids.
The sellers of "Mercator" have withheld the right to invite bidders to supplement their bids in any phase of the sales procedure, as well as to negotiate with them and discontinue the sales procedure or negotiations without stating the reason. At the same time, the sellers will not be obliged to sign the contract on sale of stocks of "Mercator".
The largest Slovenian trade company "Mercator" is majority owned by Pivovarna Laško and Infond Holding, which is the majority owner of Pivovarna Laško. The owners will not be giving official statements until the sales procedure is closed.
