- Investors from Slovenia are interested in investments in industrial zones in Šabac and Ćuprija – the Ministry of National Investment Plan (NIP) announced today (February 2nd, 2009).

The Minister for NIP, Verica Kalanović, said at the meeting that was held in the International industrial investment center for southeast Europe "Tehnopolis" in Celje that Serbia had invested about 45m EUR from NIP in development of industrial zones.

- At the moment when NIP lacks funds for infrastructural equipping of all industrial zones, the Ministry will, for the time being, invest money in the zones the investors express the most interest in – said Kalanović.

According to the announcement, she said that the Government’s task was to conduct active economic policy with the focus on improvement of investment climate, growth of employment rate and export, growth of productivity and competitiveness, and reduction of regional differences.

- With infrastructural equipping of industrial zones and stimuli for investors, we intend to make Serbia more attractive than the surrounding countries - said Kalanović.
