Serbia started application of the Transient trade agreement with European Union (EU) today (January 20, 2009). This agreement anticipates cutting of duties on the goods from EU by 5 to 20% in 2009.
People from the Customs Administration of Serbia said that the customs service was ready for commencement of unilateral application of the Transient trade agreement with European Union, which was enabled by today's putting of changes in the Law on customs rates in effect.
The Transient trade agreement that Serbia signed with EU on April 29, 2008, anticipates gradual establishment of free trade in industrial and agricultural products within the next six years.
