"Carlsberg Srbija" to increased production in 2009 by 20%

Company "Carlsberg Srbija" announced today (January 29, 2009) that it planned to increase production in 2009 by 20%, to about 1.8m hectoliters of beer.

The Director General of "Carlsberg" in Serbia, Aleksandar Radosavljević, said that the enlargement of the market share from 25 to 27% in 2009 was also in the pipeline, as well as keeping of the second position in Serbian market.

- "Carslberg" increased number of employees from 515 to 596 in 2008, and we plan to create new jobs in 2009 – said he.

Radosavljević pointed out that that company had registered the largest growth in Serbian beer industry in 2008 (by 10%), increasing production to about 1.55m hl of beer and market share from 23% in 2007 to 25%.

“Total export of beer produced in "Carlsberg" brewer in Čelarevo was enlarged in 2008 to about 340,000 hl”, said he and added that the beer from Serbia had been exported to Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Israel, Switzerland, Greece, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Germany and Australia.

Since it took over the brewer in Čelarevo in 2004, company "Carlsberg" has invested 160m EUR in Serbia, while last year’s investments reached the amount of 35m EUR.
