- Slovenian company "Gorenje" is not going to have
a new factory of household appliances built in Valjevo this year – local electronic
media announced last night (January 26, 2009).
The CEO of factory of cooling appliances "Gorenje" in Valjevo, Mirko
Meža, said for a local radio station that that did not mean that that company
would give up its intentions.
Meža specified that "Gorenje" was going to fulfill the clause from
the contract, signed on the occasion of rental of building land in that city,
and that it would employ another 500 people within the next four years.
He added that, if there was not for the economic crisis, it would already be defined what the company from Velenje would build in Valjevo.
- It is clear that the factory will be producing household appliances, but “Gorenje” has not yet decided which ones – said Meža.
He estimated that the city building land in the vicinity of the factory of cooling appliances in Valjevo had been rented “for the needs of expansion of the existing capacities".
At the end of year 2008, company "Gorenje" rented the land at 4.81 ha on 99 years for 180m RSD.
