Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic proposed to the National Assembly of Serbia to re-appoint Jorgovanka Tabakovic as the governor of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) for another six-year mandate.

Jorgovanka Tabakovic has been running the NBS since August 2012. At the time, she was the vice president of the Serbian Progressive Party, but she stopped performing party duties upon assuming the duties of the governor, in line with the Law on the NBS.

The National Assembly will discuss the election of the governor and the vice governor of the NBS at an extraordinary session tomorrow.

Zeljko Jovic, the acting vice governor until now, has been proposed for the position of the vice governor.
