Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic expressed hope today that the signed Agreement on Cooperation of Serbia and the Association of Caribbean States would help the establishment of better connections with those countries, considering that Serbia is oriented towards the enhancement of relations with its traditional partners in Latin America.

Vucic said this in his conversation with June Soomer, Secretary General of the ACS, which brings together 25 member states. Serbia has the status of an observer state. He announced that Serbia would soon open an embassy in one of the Caribbean states, in order to help the development of the cooperation, and proposed for the cooperation to develop in the fields of tourism and agriculture.

Soomer pointed out that there were fields, such as education and culture, in which the geographical distance was not an obstacle to cooperation and proposed student exchange and other concrete projects.

She invited Vucic to attend the next year’s ACS Summit, held on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the association, the president’s press service announced.
