Austrian state of Styria and Sabac interested in cooperation – Project of Innovation Center presented as well

(Sabac) Representatives of the Government of the Austrian State of Styria have visited Sabac, where they were introduced to the possibilities of cooperation in several fields.

According to Mayor Nebojsa Zelenovic, the guests from Styria were presented with the city's economic potentials, primarily the Industrial Zone, the Savapark project and the project of Innovation Center in Sabac, as reported on the city's website.

– We discussed several good topics, but focused especially on the fields of economy, education and ecology. We talked about our Industrial Zone, as one of the best zones in the country, about Savapark and about the possibilities of finding European partners that would take part in financing this project. The new feature we presented to our friends from Styria is the Innovation Center in Sabac, a new idea we are developing, for which the ideas we could receive from them are important – Zelenovic said.

He pointed out that, during the first day of the visit, the guests from Austria had had the opportunity to learn about the operations of the School of Applied Arts and the Agricultural School in Sabac, and that they visited the School of Economics and Trade on the second day, where they discussed the possibilities of cooperation with the directors of these educational institutions.

Stefan Borger, Head of Department for European Affairs and International Relations in Styrian Government said they were satisfied with what they had seen in Sabac, and that they were open for cooperation.

– Our communication with Municipality of Sabac lasts for over a year and a half. The reason for our visit is getting to know more about the projects Sabac has, since we understood it was an innovative city with good projects in different areas. Owing to these projects it is possible to establish cooperation in education, economy and so on. We see Sabac as a starting point for future cooperation with Serbia. Sabac is the city that will be the starting point for future cooperation of our regions – Stefan Borger said.
