Serbia planning highway between Ruma and Sabac – Azerbaijan looking to build high-speed route Sabac-Loznica

Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic talked this Monday, May 28, 2018 with Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Serbia Eldar Hassanov about new joint infrastructural projects of the two countries.

As reported on the website of the Government of Serbia, Mihajlovic pointed out at the meeting, which was attended by representatives of Azvirt, that it was important for the Government of Serbia for the realization of the projects discussed by the presidents of Serbia and Azerbaijan during the recent visit of the Serbian delegation to Baku.

Primarily, the idea is to build a 22-km Ruma-Sabac highway and a 55-km high-speed route Sabac-Loznica, Mihajlovic pointed out.

The project of the construction of the bypass route around Belgrade was also discussed at the meeting.

Mihajlovic also presented to Ambassador Hassanov an initiative of several ministries to organize a business conference in Belgrade or in Baku, where Serbia would present infrastructural projects in the fields of transport, energy, mining and telecommunications and where Serbian companies would be introduced to the possibilities of engaging in projects in Azerbaijan.

She congratulated Ambassador Hassanov on the Republic Day of Azerbaijan, which is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the secular democratic republic this year.

Hassanov expressed gratitude for a good and efficient cooperation with the ministry and reminded of important agreements in the field of transport that Mihajlovic had signed during the visit of the Serbian delegation to Azerbaijan, says the press release by the Cabinet of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure.
