The company's new logo, in which the letter A is no longer green, but red, has been presented in Austria and will be used in all the markets the company is present in, including Serbia.
Last week, the Bulgarian operator Mtel, owned by Telekom Austria, was renamed as A1. In addition to Austria and Bulgaria, Telekom Austria is present in Croatia, Belarus, Slovenia, Macedonia and Serbia. In Slovenia, the local daughter company has been operating as A1 for a year now, and it was previously called Si Mobil.
Next year, all the daughter companies will be renamed as A1, and VIP will therefore also get a new name and logo.
– Telekom Austria is thereby following the trend in this industry of having a single name in all countries – said Alejandro Plater, CEO of Telekom Austria.
He pointed out that their competitors Vodafon, Telenor, Orange and T-Mobil had been doing the same for a long time.
Telekom Austria plans to put 4 to 5 million euros per country in the marketing aiming to promote the new name.
