Production of "punto" in Kragujevac should start in March

- Production of “punto“ automobiles in Kragujevac should start in March 2009 – said Zoran Radojević, the Director General of “Zastava Group“.

He explained to the press that the contract on production of that model should be signed the next week, and he added that, prior to that time, the details of the document, which had been offered by the newly formed company “Fiat Automobili Srbija“ to the management of “Zastava“ the night before, should be thoroughly defined.

Radojević said that that contract did not specify the scope of production of punto and he explained that that would depend exclusively on the market needs.

He said that 20,000 “punto“ vehicles a year can be produced with the existing equipment, while some investments would increase production to 40,000 cars a year.
