Dutch company "Sonder Jansen" announced construction of cold storage plant for fruit in Leskovac’s village of Turekovac

- Dutch-Serbian company "Sonder-Duks" is going to finance construction of cold storage plant for keeping and packing of fruit in Leskovac’s village of Turekovac in 2009. The fruit from that plant will be exported to the countries of Western Europe – people from the Cabinet of the Mayor of Leskovac announced.

The co-owner of Dutch company "Sonder Jansen", Geri Sonder, said to the press that the construction of the cold storage plant, with the capacity of 2,500 tons, would be finished until May 2009, but he did not want to specify how much that construction was going to cost. As he explained, 30 people will be hired to work in the cold storage plant once it is completed.

- The number of workers will grow to 150 in the fruit picking season, and we also count on about 800 collaborators from the region of Leskovac – he added.

The projected value of export of fruit that will be kept in the cold storage plant in 2009 is 1m EUR. The projected value in 2010 is 2m EUR, while the value of export in 2011 is estimated at more than 3m EUR.

Company "Sonder Jansen" is the biggest purchaser of fruit in Europe and it is present in Serbian market since 1996.

The cold storage unit in Turekovac will be the first investment of that Dutch company in development of some facility in Serbia.
