Ukraine stopped delivery of gas

- Ukraine stopped transit of gas to Europe only few hours after the delivery of Russian gas had been resumed – says Aleksandar Medvedev, the Vice President of "Gazprom".

- This morning, "Gazprom" started delivery of gas for European consumers, but Ukraine blocked the transit – said Medvedev and added that he had spoken with the representatives of European Commission about that.

Ukrainian authorities have admitted that they blocked the delivery of Russian gas to Europe because of the "unacceptable transit conditions” set by Russian company "Gazprom" – said Valentin Zemljanski, the spokesperson of Ukrainian "Naftogas".

Russian “Gazprom” has announced that the transit of Russian gas was stopped today around noon because Kiev did not open the main route for transit of gas to Europe.

- Ukrainian actions are against all the agreements that were signed yesterday. In these circumstances, we have no physical capacities to transport gas to Europe across the territory of Ukraine, and we can only blame Ukraine for that – said Medvedev.
