Nestle to start using healthier ingredients in products – Cipiripi sold for strategic reasons
Nestle has announced that the confectionery brand Cipiripi was sold for strategic reasons.
Nestle Adriatic Communications Director Iva Taiber said that the company was turning to using healthier ingredients in its production and that “it simply can't do everything”.
– Cipiripi has a long and rich history, with over 27 years of presence in Serbia, and is synonymous with good memories and childhood. In Paracinka, which is a member of the Silbo distribution group, we have found a new home for our confectionery brand, within which the brand will continue developing and being upgraded. At the same time, this transaction will allow Nestle to focus more on its globally renowned brands, planned for a strong growth in the future – Taiber added.
She said that Nestle was turning to new partners and cited the recent agreement with Starbucks as an example.
Let us remind that, at the beginning of the current month, Nestle announced that it was selling Cipiripi in Serbia as part of its continual portfolio revision.
The transaction, which includes chocolate bars and creams, will be carried out at the end of the second quarter of 2018, following the obtaining of the usual authorizations and conditions.
The company points out that the transaction will not have an impact on the jobs at Nestle Adriatic.
