Government of Montenegro allowed issuing of 40,000 work permits for foreigners

The Government of Montenegro has allowed issuing of about 40,000 work permits to foreigners in 2009.

According to the Law on employment of foreigners, which was put in effect at the beginning of this year, three types of work permits can be issued to foreigners – personal work permit, employment license and work permit.

Personal work permit is issued to the foreigners with permanent residence in Montenegro, refugees and persons who get additional protection.

Work permit has the expiration date, while the employment license makes it possible for the employer to sign the work contract with a foreigner.

The fee for issuing of aforementioned permits ranges between 110 and 165 EUR per document.
