Odžaci-based factory of agricultural machines "Poljostroj" is in the final phase of negotiations with the partners from Algeria on joint production of special machines "binder". The machines will be intended, first of all, for this and other countries of African continent. Along with the traditional baling machine that is produced in Odžaci, the new machine is for binding of pressed hay or lucerne.
"Poljstroj" became recognizable on the territory of former Yugoslavia by a machine that is still produced - famous "Poljstroj’s" husker. That was the trademark and at least 150,000 machines were produced in this factory. However, the factory experiences the real bloom in cooperation with the famous world company for production of agricultural machines "Klas". The factory started to produce baling presses according to the license of that famous west European company. The baling press with small changes and innovations is still produced in the factory and it satisfies the needs of 80% of local market, so that it will produce about 200 machines for the needs of the local market until the end of the year.
Three fourth of this-year production will be exported. Their buyers are from Croatia, BiH, Hungary, Macedonia and Bulgaria. There are also big chances for export of products to Turkey and Azerbaijan.
The factory is looking for strategic partner for years. It is believed that the new majority owner will be found in 2006.
