- Ukraine has given its consent today (January 9, 2009) that Russian experts can join the EU mission that is going to monitor transit of Russian gas to European consumers – said Bodan Sokolovski, a representative of the President of Russia.

Russia has accepted to resume delivery of gas across Ukraine if Russian experts join the monitoring mission.

This was announced last night, following the negotiations between the three sides – Russia, Ukraine and EU – in Brussels.
