Prices of postal services higher by 9.5%

- Starting today (January 6, 2009), the prices of postal services in Serbia will be higher by 9.5% at average, so that the letter sending will cost 9.7% more than before, that is, it will cost 22 instead of 20 RSD, while the prices of money orders will be increased by 5.2% - people from PTT "Srbija" announced.

The price correction will be put in effect through application of new Price list of reserved postal services in internal postal traffic, which has been approved by the Government of Serbia.

PTT has made the decision to stop charging double postal fees for special-service mail – sent by night, on Sunday and on national and religious holidays.

According to the announcement, PTT "Srbija" will, thus, bring the prices of services in accord with the increased expenses of operations over the last two years.

The last correction of prices of postal services in internal traffic took place on February 21, 2007. In the meantime, retail prices grew by 18.3%, while the living expenses went up by 21%.
