Tourism of Mokra Gora opened up another chapter yesterday (December, 30, 2008), in direction of Emir Kusturica – a ski site covered with artificial snow started with work on Iver, the highest point on Tara Mt., 8 km away from Mecavnik. Besides the skiing complex, hotel “Mladost” is located.
Out of 4 ski field which Emir Kusturica built on Iver, yesterday got into function the track of “black category”, ment for experienced skiers, 1000 meters long and 50-80 meters wide. This track is covered with 5 tops for artifical snowing, and therefore it would not be depending on the forecasts, like the remaining 3.
The price of daily ski pass is 700 dinars, and ski lift is set along the track purposed for 600 skiers per hour, moving 3,5 meters per second. You can reach Iver through asphalted road from Mecavnik towards Tara, and for all tourists without private cars, there are buses of “Drvengrad” departing and arriving from the ski site every hour.
“Mladost” hotel, which also owns Emir Kusturica, has besides 15 double rooms, a restaurant hall and a terrace with 300 seating places. All 30 beds in Mladost hotel, as well as another 100 beds in Mecavnik itself has been reserved for the holidays much earlier, and it is certain that opened capacities will be only after the end of January.
